I love subscription boxes. They are a guilty pleasure that I just can’t quit. I’ve tried numerous beauty subscriptions including Birch Box and FabFitFun but the only one I’ve stayed loyal to is Ipsy. I’m not sure if it’s the cute little bags they send the monthly products in or the full-sized products I get, but for only $10, it’s worth every penny.
Since I’ve committed to Ipsy, I thought it would be fun to review the monthly products I receive. So below you will find February’s Ipsy bag and my two-or-more cents on each product.
First… the glam bag
This month’s bag screams spring to me. Dark denim and just a touch of neon. I also love the adorable zipper…branding – on. point.
Now the products:
I mean, how cute is this name? It reminds me of sitting in the nail salon, searching for the perfect polish with the perfect name to match. I was really excited to get this product because I’ve been super into loose pigment shadows lately. I also tend to stray towards neutral shadows so this color was perfect to add to my collection.
I almost don’t want to really tell you all how much I love this highlighter and keep as my own little secret but I realize that wouldn’t be fair. It’s that good. My problem with most highlighters is that they can either be too pink and shimmery or too white and matte. But this one has a soft lavender shade that I honestly think would flatter every skin color. It’s not an overpowering highlight, with the perfect amount of pigment and shimmer.
My sister always said, “never leave the house without mascara.” To this day, we’re both on the hunt to find the perfect one. Which makes me really said to say that this mascara wasn’t it. I will say that I do enjoy the fact that it’s waterproof and doesn’t require WD-40 to remove. But I wasn’t a fan of how long it took it dry or the hassle to remove it from my eye lids if it smeared before drying. I also didn’t feel that it brought any “oomph” to my lashes.
This lotion is simply delicious! The smell, the texture, the non-greasy-ness, all of it! I have ridiculously dry skin, my hands and feet being the worst. So much that every time I get a pedicure, it becomes the topic of discussion. That said, I’m always on the lookout for a hand lotion that won’t make my hands all greasy and slimy all day but still does the job. Even after washing my hands I noticed the smell still lingering. This did not disappoint.
I am no beauty brush connoisseur, so I don’t get as excited for them as I do beauty products. That said, I’ll never turn them down either. The first time I used this blush brush, I kind of accidentally picked it up. When I did, I noticed it was a bit smaller than my other blush brushes…so the “meh” feeling continued. But then I realized it would be perfect for the sample size blushes I have stocked up, and that changed everything.
